My Year in Photography and Art
A few snapshots of my year in pictures and art. It’s been a trying year with health issues, near deaths and actual deaths with the loss of my brother in April and my nephew Christmas eve.
But trying times challenge us and I choose to become stronger, for the best way to honor those who’ve gone before us is to stay strong and enjoy those who are still here.
There were some highlights as well. A friend published her poetry book, my husband survived his illness, and after a scare, it was determined I was cancer free and I started my novel.
True friends showed themselves and strangers heaped blessings on my husband and I in ways we couldn’t imagine.
As for 2015, life will throw its usual lemons, but I know I have friends to help me make lemonade! And I will be publishing this year.
Have a blessed and safe New Years.
Enjoy the pictures.
Deer Chihuahua
I am a Deer Chihuahua, my legs are long so I can dance for you. I also like to give ninja kisses when your not looking.
My favorite place is on your lap, or head, or chest. It doesn’t matter as long as I am with you.
My ears are big so I can hear very well. That way I can be the first one to bark warning you of danger, and that the pizza has arrived.
I am only seven pounds so I can snuggle into your coat when we walk my big brother, the one you say is a Labrador. Besides it keeps me nearer to you.
I like the winter coat you bought me, the one with the hoodie, though I can live without the dress you think is adorable.
I am your Deer (Dear) Chihuahua, your faithful companion, guardian and friend.
Tortuous Anticipation
Time drips mercilessly slow, drowning me tortuously.
You make me wait when I’m ready to soar.
Let me fly, let me run, let me shake off this tedious life! Come with me and we can leap into joyous existence!
You shake your head and sigh. The time is not right you say.
Your sigh is contagious. The clock ticks, mocking me.
Though it hurts my soul, for you I will wait.
Missing You
I loved you unconditionally even
though we are worlds apart.
When you breathed I breathed in rhythm with you.
Where you went I long to be there too.
When you left me for another existence I cried for days, howling in my sorrow.
To let go is something my heart just cannot do.
Lil’ Dogs
I’m not an accessory
I’m not a fashion statement
I’m not your cute purse puppy
I’m tiny this is true
I will do things to make you laugh
I will kiss away your tears
All I ask is you love me unconditionally
As I do for you
